Job description: Description One of SGA's major financial clients is seeking a Senior QA engineer responsible for creating and maintaining automated and manual test suites for systems in ISG's Client Reference Data group within the Enterprise Data Group.
Candidate will be required to define strategies and test cases covering all aspect of functional, regression, and performance testing, and execute test cases independently or collaborate with other QA members in test execution. This candidate will also be expected to design, write and maintain Back End automation scripts for testing. The role involves working closely with the business analysts and developers to understand business requirements and technical structure.
The ideal candidate should be experienced with standard test methodologies, able to quickly acquire business and technical knowledge to come up with robust test cases, and work against aggressive timelines. The successful candidate will recommend and influence changes to developers to further improve software quality. Skills Required
* 6 years experience testing distributed applications including data validation and error handling
* Ability to write detailed test cases, test plans, and thoroughly document defects identified
* 3 years experience with test automation using Mercury Quick Test Pro
* Experience with Scripting test automation using Java, Perl, or Unix
* Experience with functional testing of all tiers of a multi-tier distributed application, including UI, Middleware/messaging and database layers
* Experience with Back End database testing
* Experience with performance testing multi-tier applications in an enterprise environment
* DB Skills - should be able to write complex SQL statements
* Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
* Proven leadership with effective organizational and interpersonal skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Execution and deliverable focused
* Self motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership
