CenturyLink will continue to operate under the names CenturyTel and EMBARQ in those respective legacy markets until the completion of our branding initiative later in 2009.
Designs, analyzes, plans and modifies network components supporting the access network from the central office to the customer permise. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for digital loop carrier switching, feeder and distribution. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities . Conducts economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections.
* Job requires a level of knowledge typically gained through a combination of college (Engineering, Computer Science or Network Communications)
and/or relevant experience.

Working knowledge of HSI (DSL) network applications, design and operation.
*
Telecommunications experience in engineering, planning ad/or network operations.
*
Knowledge of a large range of technologies and their applications as well as thorough knowledge of company operations.
*
Excellent inter-personal and communications skills, knowledge of economics and analysis, leadership and problem solving skills.
*
PC competency with Microsoft Office Products.
*
General knowledge of CenturyTel and EMBARQ products and services preferred.
*
Ability to establish and matrix manage a cross-functional and independent team of professionals.
*
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
