Job description: ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR (Public) - New Haven, CT
This client is doing so well that even the bathroom attendant has an Administrative Assistant.
You know that's a successful organization right?
All kidding aside, this mid-sized firm is a great company. We've been dealing with them for years and what they are looking for are Public Accounting Supervisors who will be responsible for larger, more complex engagements and may oversee more than one engagement simultaneously.
Supervisors must demonstrate an ability to assume full responsibility (which, by the way would remove you from any possibility of working for the current resident of the White House) for directing engagements and special assignments.
You will be expected to review working papers for accuracy and completeness, financial statements and reports for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures; discussions with clients; direct Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants I and II; review programs and see that assignments are accomplished within the budgeted time.
Supervisors follow the progress of the engagement and helps resolve accounting and audit problems as they arise and comply with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups.
A pretty good summary wouldn't you say?

Here's what you need to have in your repertoire.
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree with a concentration in Accounting required an MBA or Masters is preferred but not required. Obviously because of the level of this position you MUST have CPA certification. Generally a minimum of at least two years experience as a Senior Accountant at a CPA firm is required.
Here's your chance to start being the boss instead of being bossed around.
Salary, depending upon your experience of course is in the $70-$100K range.
Partnership potential is absolutely possible.
